One summer in 1974 Julie and Ernie took their two young daughters to visit a small island they had heard good things about from a friend they were visiting in Puerto Rico.
All it took was one visit and Julie and her girls fell in love with St. John. Ernie took a ferry over to St. Thomas to buy liquor (the island was very small and had few stores in those days) and Julie went to see local realtor Forrest Fisher.
The couple purchased their island cottage and spent the next fifteen summers there. Now they share their favorite place on earth with guests. The cottage reflects the couples interests. There is a large garden area (complete with a stone heart Ernie had made for Julie for an anniversary gift), lots of books, and wrap around decks on both levels to appreciate the views.
